The Reset Spiral — Revenge Trading After a Failed Evaluation
How one failed evaluation turns into three, and the habits that break the spiral.
The most expensive evaluation is the one bought ten minutes after the last one failed.
How the spiral works
An evaluation fails. A reset is one click away. The next session starts angry, with bigger size to "make it back", and fails faster than the first. Repeat.
The traps behind it
Revenge trading: a bigger, rushed trade to win back a loss.
FOMO: jumping in late, outside your plan, because price is moving without you.
Overconfidence after wins: raising size after a good streak.
Every one of them breaks a rule you set when you were calm.
Breaking it
Give yourself a cool-off: no reset the same day. Read what ended the account, change one rule, and come back with normal or smaller size.
Discipline over prediction
Following your own rules — not predicting the market — is what passes evaluations. TradeCompass's Discipline Score tracks how closely you kept your plan, win or lose.
TradeCompass turns this into your own rules: it checks every trade against them and warns you before you break one.
