Your Evaluation Plan — Pacing Without Forcing the Target

Write the plan before you pay, pace the target over days, and slow down near the finish.

A plan is a set of rules you decide while calm, so the hard decisions aren't made in the heat of a trade.

Write it before you pay

Setups: what has to be true before you enter.

Risk: dollars per trade, your daily stop and losses-in-a-row limit.

Hours and news: when you trade and when you stand aside.

Review: when you look back and change one thing.

Pace the target

You don't need big days. Spread the target over the days you have, and the consistency rule never becomes a problem.

Example

Target $3,000, aiming to pass in about 12 trading days: about $250 a day.

With a 50% consistency rule, any single day above $1,500 would only slow you down.

The last few hundred dollars

Close to the target is where accounts die: extra trades, bigger size, one more try after a loss. Keep your normal size, and stop for the day after a loss.

TradeCompass turns this into your own rules: it checks every trade against them and warns you before you break one.

1. Target $3,000, aiming to pass in about 12 trading days. What's the average per day?
2. You're $200 from the target and just took a loss. A good move?
3. Why write the plan before paying for the evaluation?
