Size from the stop, not from the feeling
Oversizing usually happens on the trade you feel best about. But a strong feeling isn't a higher probability — your results on 'sure' trades are usually the same as on the rest.
Fixed risk per trade is what makes your results measurable. If one trade risks 3× the others, it decides your week, and your stats stop telling you anything about your edge.
Use the position-size calculator: risk in dollars ÷ (distance to stop × point value) = contracts. Round down, never up.
On an evaluation, a smaller fixed size keeps you far from the drawdown floor long enough for your edge to show.
TradeCompass turns this into your own rules: it checks every trade against them and warns you before you break one.
